Terms Used In Tennessee Code 71-1-121
- Department: means the department of human services. See Tennessee Code 71-1-102
- Division: means one (1) of the divisions created within the department of human services for the purposes of administration. See Tennessee Code 71-1-102
- Person: includes a corporation, firm, company or association. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, the department shall grant access to all public assistance records, reports, documents, case files or other similar documents about a person who has applied for or is receiving or has received public assistance, including, but not limited to, temporary assistance for needy families (TANF), or any successor program, food assistance pursuant to chapter 5, part 3 of this title, medicaid and Title XX services ( division; authorization of appropriations” class=”unlinked-ref” datatype=”S” statecd=”US” title=”42″>42 U.S.C. §§ 1397 et seq.), to authorized counsel for the person.
