Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 17:48A-4

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
No certificate of authority shall be issued to any medical service corporation except on receipt of evidence by the Commissioner of Banking and Insurance that the corporation is in possession of unencumbered funds of not less than five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) and that such amount is held in cash or in bank to the credit of the corporation.
