Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 17B:27-51.1a
- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. - State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
b. This act shall exclude salaried services which are already reimbursed and shall not be construed to affect or impair hospital procedures for billing in-hospital nursing care. The practice of nursing shall be deemed to be within the provisions of chapter 27 of Title 17B of the New Jersey Statutes and duly registered professional nurses shall have those privileges and benefits in the scope of their practice as are afforded thereunder to licensed physicians and surgeons in the scope of their practice.
c. This section shall apply to any group health insurance policy: (1) delivered or issued for delivery in this State on or after the effective date of this act; or (2) under which the insurer reserves the right to change the premium.
