Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 18A:18A-57

  • Board: means the board of education. See New Jersey Statutes 18A:1-1
  • Board of education: means and includes the board of education of any local school district, consolidated school district, regional school district, county vocational school and any other board of education or other similar body other than the State Board of Education, the Commission on Higher Education or the Presidents' Council, established and operating under the provisions of Title 18A of the New Jersey Statutes and having authority to make purchases and to enter into contracts for the provision or performance of goods or services.   • District: means and includes any local school district, consolidated school district, regional school district, county vocational school and any other board of education or other similar body other than the State board, established under the provisions of Title 18A of the New Jersey Statutes. See New Jersey Statutes 18A:18A-2
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
Any board of education which has established a small business set-aside program, a minority business enterprise set-aside program or a women’s business enterprise set-aside program shall prepare a report by January 31 of each year describing the board’s efforts in attaining the set-aside goals and the percentage of the dollar value of total procurements awarded in the immediately preceding local fiscal year. The board of education shall publish a list of its attainments in at least one newspaper circulating in the school district by March 1 of each year.
