Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 18A:36B-24

  • Board: means the board of education. See New Jersey Statutes 18A:1-1
  • Commissioner: means the Commissioner of Education. See New Jersey Statutes 18A:1-1
  • Department: means the State Department of Education. See New Jersey Statutes 18A:1-1
  • District: means a school district. See New Jersey Statutes 18A:1-1
  • Joint committee: Committees including membership from both houses of teh legislature. Joint committees are usually established with narrow jurisdictions and normally lack authority to report legislation.
  • Public school: means a school, under college grade, which derives its support entirely or in part from public funds. See New Jersey Statutes 18A:1-1
  • State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
11. The commissioner shall annually report to the State Board of Education, the Legislature, and the Joint Committee on the Public Schools on the effectiveness of the interdistrict public school choice program. The commissioner’s annual report shall be posted on the Department of Education’s website and on the website of each choice district.
