Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 18A:64A-88
- Board: means the board of education. See New Jersey Statutes 18A:1-1
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- County college: means an educational institution established or to be established by one or more counties, offering programs of instruction, extending not more than two years beyond the high school, which may include but need not be limited to specialized or comprehensive curriculums, including college credit transfer courses, terminal courses in the liberal arts and sciences, and technical institute type programs. - Employment: includes employment in a position. See New Jersey Statutes 18A:1-1
- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. - State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
It shall be the purpose of a county college-based adult center to:
(1) coordinate and integrate existing county- and State-based services, programs, and resources; and
(2) ensure that individuals with developmental disabilities up to the age of 24 have opportunities to receive mentoring, job coaching, skill training, and any other appropriate wrap-around services to help them make a successful transition into employment and independent living, as appropriate.
b. The board of trustees of a county college may receive and expend moneys from the State and federal governments or private individuals, corporations, associations, or college foundations to meet the expenses of the county college-based adult center for transition.
c. The board of trustees of a county college may, through a contract with the board of trustees of another county college, satisfy the requirement established pursuant to subsection a. of this section by providing individuals with developmental disabilities up to the age of 24 who reside in the county with access to the services offered by the contracted county college’s adult center for transition.
