- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. No person shall operate a milk plant, as defined herein, from which milk or fluid milk products are shipped, transported or imported for the purpose of distribution, sale or resale in this State, either directly or indirectly, and no person shall operate as a bulk milk hauler distributing or selling milk to such milk plants, unless that person shall have first obtained a permit from the department to engage in such business, in the manner hereinafter set forth.
A permit shall be required for each milk plant or each bulk milk hauler and it shall not be transferable with respect to persons or locations. All such permits shall expire on June 30 in each year unless an earlier date is specified by such permit.
