Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 24:6L-4

  • Device: means instruments, apparatus, and contrivances, including their components, parts, and accessories, intended (1) for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease in man or other animals. See New Jersey Statutes 24:1-1
  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 4. a. Any person who has successfully completed an educational program approved by the commissioner pursuant to section 5 of this act to administer an epinephrine auto-injector device shall be issued a certificate of completion, which shall authorize the person to administer, maintain, and dispose of an epinephrine auto-injector device.

b. A licensed health care professional may prescribe or dispense an epinephrine auto-injector device, either directly or through a standing order, to a person authorized to administer, maintain, and dispose of the device pursuant to subsection a. of this section.

c. An entity employing a person authorized to administer, maintain, and dispose of an epinephrine auto-injector device pursuant to subsection a. of this section may obtain, maintain, and make available to the authorized person epinephrine auto-injector devices consistent with such standards and protocols as the commissioner may establish by regulation.
