Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 26:2F-14
- Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
Each local health agency receiving public health priority funds shall on or before October 15 in each year, following the year for which the public health priority funds were received, prepare and file with the commissioner an annual report for the preceding State fiscal year. Such report shall state the condition of the public health within the limits of its jurisdiction, noting therein any special cause for the deterioration of health or of hazard thereto, and shall contain answers to any questions which may have been addressed to the local health agency by the commissioner.
