- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 1. An owner, lessee or occupant of agricultural or horticultural lands as defined in P.L.1983, c.522 (C. 2C:18-4 et seq.) who grants permission to operate a motorized vehicle, snowmobile, all-terrain vehicle or dirt bike or to ride horseback thereon pursuant to subsection a. of section 2 of that act does not thereby: a. extend any assurance that the premises, including any natural or man-made conditions, are safe for the purposes set forth in that subsection; b. constitute the person to whom permission is granted an invitee or licensee to whom a duty of care is owed; or c. assume responsibility for, or incur liability for, an injury to person or property caused by the act of a person to whom the permission is granted.
