Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 2A:55-8
- Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
When any such settlement shall be made in a pending action, it shall be made in writing and the original or a signed copy filed with the court.
