- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
1. a. Whenever a child who is enrolled in a child care center licensed pursuant to P.L.1983, c.492 (C. 30:5B-1 et seq.) will be absent from the child care center, the child’s parent or guardian shall notify the sponsor of the child care center or the sponsor’s designee.
b. If a child who is enrolled in a licensed child care center is determined to be absent without notification from the child’s parent or guardian, and if the reason for the child’s absence is unknown to child care center staff, the sponsor of the child care center or the sponsor’s designee shall immediately attempt to contact the child’s parent or guardian to notify the parent or guardian of the absence and to determine the reason for the absence.
