Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 34:15-43.4

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State.   • State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
A person participating under the supervision of the Palisades Interstate Park Commission, in a volunteer program in that part of the Palisades Interstate Park located in New Jersey, who is deemed to be an employee of this State under R.S. 32:14-4 for the purpose of receiving workers’ compensation coverage, is eligible for compensation for injury or death, or both, under chapter 15 of Title 34 of the Revised Statutes, based upon a weekly salary or compensation conclusively presumed to be received by this person in an amount sufficient to entitle him, or, in the event of his death, his dependents, to receive the maximum compensation available under chapter 15 of Title 34 of the Revised Statutes.
