Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 34:2-1
- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. As used in this chapter:
“Bakery” includes all buildings, rooms or places where biscuits, pies, bread, crackers, cakes and confectionery are made or manufactured for sale.
“Custodian” means any person, organization or society having the legal custody of a child.
“Laundry” means any place which laundry work is regularly carried on.
“Manufacturing establishment” means any place where articles for use or consumption are regularly made.
“Mercantile establishment” means any place where goods, wares, or merchandise are offered for sale.
“Restaurant” means any place where meals or refreshments, both food and drink, are served to the public.
