- Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 39:5-46. The clerk of every court wherein a person licensed to operate a motor vehicle in this or another state is convicted of stealing produce from a farm in this state, shall, within three days after the conviction, make a report in writing to the commission of all such cases heard before the court, upon blanks provided by the commission for the purpose. The report shall state the name and address of the person convicted, the date thereof, the sentence imposed by the court and any recommendations the court may deem of value to the commission in determining whether action should be taken against the convicted person’s license.
