Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 39:5B-26

  • State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
The department, in consultation with the Department of Environmental Protection, the Department of Labor, the Department of Commerce and Economic Development, the Divisions of Motor Vehicles and State Police of the Department of Law and Public Safety, and other appropriate State departments and agencies shall adopt, within 12 months of the effective date of this act and pursuant to the provisions of the “Administrative Procedure Act,” P.L.1968, c. 410 (C. 52:14B-1 et seq.), rules and regulations concerning the transportation of hazardous material, which shall, to the maximum extent practicable, conform to the requirements established by 49 CFR Parts 100-199, adopted by the United States Department of Transportation pursuant to the provisions of the “Hazardous Materials Transportation Act,” Pub.L. 93-633 (49 U.S.C. § 1801 et seq.).
