Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 40A:9-133.2
- clerk: means the clerk of a municipality or of a board of chosen freeholders. See New Jersey Statutes 40A:1-1
- director: means the Director of the Division of Local Government Services in the Department of Community Affairs. See New Jersey Statutes 40A:1-1
- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. - State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
Introduction of the Duties of the Municipal Clerk;
Advanced Duties of the Municipal Clerk;
Local Election Administration;
Information and Records Management; and
Municipal Finance Administration for Municipal Clerks.
Every applicant submitting an application prior to December 31, 2000 may present proof of satisfactory completion of a course in Municipal Finance Administration, in lieu of the course in Municipal Finance Administration for Municipal Clerks.
The proofs required pursuant to this section shall be provided on the application forms and in the manner as shall be prescribed by the director. Each completed application shall be accompanied by a fee in the amount of $50 payable to the order of the State Treasurer. Examinations shall be written, or both written and oral, and shall be of such character as fairly to test and determine the qualifications, fitness and ability of the person tested to actually perform the duties of municipal clerk.
