Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 43:15A-103

  • Executor: A male person named in a will to carry out the decedent
  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. Upon the receipt of proper proofs of the death of a member who at the time of retirement was a law enforcement officer and who has retired on an accidental disability retirement allowance, there shall be paid to such person, if living, as he shall have nominated by written designation duly executed and filed with the board of trustees, otherwise to the executor or administrator of the member’s estate, the sum of $5,000.00 or the amount payable pursuant to section 46c of the act to which this act is a supplement, whichever is greater.
