- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. If a member should cease to be a fireman or policeman, except by death or retirement as provided in this act, he shall be paid the amount of his aggregate contributions less any outstanding loan upon the filing of a written application as required by the retirement system. No member shall be entitled to withdraw the amounts contributed by his employer covering his military leave unless he shall have returned to the payroll and contributed to the retirement system for a period of 90 days.
If such person or any member shall die before withdrawing his aggregate contributions, such deductions shall be paid to the member’s beneficiary.
