- State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
2. The Legislature finds and declares that the public interest requires the regulation of the practice of dietetics and nutrition and the establishment of clear licensure standards of competency and integrity for nutritionists and dietitian nutritionists to properly protect the health and safety of the citizenry and further, that the health and welfare of the residents of the State will be protected by identifying to the public those individuals who are qualified and legally authorized to practice dietetics and nutrition.
