21. a. Continuing education courses may be delivered in a classroom setting or, to the extent practicable, offered via the Internet or video modalities, subject to the approval by the board of the providers and the content of the courses and of the measures utilized to ensure the security and integrity of the course delivery process. The board may approve continuing education courses which include periodic progress assessments and the achievement of a satisfactory level of performance by the licensee on progress assessments as a condition to continuing to a succeeding segment of the course. The board shall not require, as a condition of the receipt of credit for attendance at any continuing education course, that a licensee pass a comprehensive examination testing the licensee’s knowledge of the entire course content.

b. A licensee may fulfill all continuing education requirements in-person, via the Internet or video modalities, or through a combination of these options.
