Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 46:30B-49

  • Administrator: means the Treasurer of the State of New Jersey, any individual serving as the Acting Treasurer in the absence of the appointed Treasurer, and any State employee to whom the Treasurer has delegated authority to administer the provisions of this chapter and to execute any pertinent documents.   • Holder: means a person, wherever organized or domiciled, who is the original obligor indebted to another on an obligation. See New Jersey Statutes 46:30B-6
  • Insurance company: means an association, corporation, fraternal or mutual benefit organization, whether or not for profit, which is engaged in providing insurance coverage, including accident, burial, casualty, credit life, contract performance, dental, fidelity, fire, health, hospitalization, illness, life (including endowments and annuities), malpractice, marine, mortgage, surety, and wage protection insurance.   • Property: means tangible property described in R. See New Jersey Statutes 46:30B-6
46:30B-49. Time to file report; postponement. The report shall be filed before November 1 of each year as of the preceding June 30, but the report of any life insurance company shall be filed before May 1 of each year as of the preceding December 31.

Before the date for filing the report, the holder of property presumed abandoned may request of the administrator an extension of the time for filing the report. The administrator may grant the extension for good cause. The holder, upon receipt of the extension, shall make an interim payment on the amount the holder estimates will ultimately be due, which terminates the accrual of additional interest on the estimated amount paid.
