Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 4:10-10

  • Department: means the department of agriculture. See New Jersey Statutes 4:10-1
  • Farm products: means any agricultural, dairy, poultry or horticultural product, or any product designed for food purposes, manufactured, derived or prepared principally from any agricultural, dairy, poultry or horticultural product or products, including any fresh or salt water food product. See New Jersey Statutes 4:10-1
  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State.   • Secretary: means the secretary of agriculture. See New Jersey Statutes 4:10-1
  • State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
A person in this state engaged in marketing farm products shall prepare and submit to the department, upon request, at such regular intervals and in such form as may be prescribed, reports of the quantity and conditions of any farm product held by, or for, such person in commercial or other storage in this state.

A person in this state shall furnish the department, upon request, on such date, and in such form as may be prescribed, special reports, orally or in writing, concerning the demand for, and the supply, consumption, cost, value, price and condition and period of the holding of any farm product, which is, or has been held by, or for, such person in storage or otherwise.

The secretary may verify the accuracy of the reports provided for in this section. When making public any information received in the reports provided for in this section, the secretary and the employees or agents of the department, shall not divulge the name of the person owning or reporting upon a farm product without the consent of such person, or except pursuant to legal processes.
