- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 52. In addition to any other penalty, fine or charge imposed pursuant to law, a person convicted of a violation of the State Uniform Construction Code adopted pursuant to the “State Uniform Construction Code Act,” P.L.1975, c.217 (C. 52:27D-119 et seq.), shall be subject to a surcharge in the amount of $100, of which amount $50 shall be payable to the municipality in which the violation shall have occurred and $50 shall be payable to the Treasurer of the State of New Jersey for deposit into the General Fund; except that in the case of a violation occurring in a municipality in which the enforcement of the State Uniform Construction Code is performed exclusively by the State, the entire amount of the surcharge shall be payable to the State Treasurer for deposit into the General Fund.
