- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 14. If the county director or his designee has reasonable cause to believe that a caretaker or other person has committed a criminal act against a vulnerable adult including, but not limited to, P.L.1989, c.23 (C. 2C:24-8), he shall immediately report the information to local law enforcement officials or the prosecutor of the county in which the alleged criminal act was committed. If the report is made orally, a written report shall follow in a timely manner.
