Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 52:27D-437.18

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State.   • State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
3. In association with an application for lead remediation funding provided pursuant to the “Lead Hazard Control Assistance Fund” established pursuant to section 4 of P.L.2003, c.311 (C. 52:27D-437.4), or any other program administered for lead remediation purposes by the Department of Community Affairs, the department shall not request or require that a property owner disclose the social security number of any person renting the property or otherwise associated with the inspected property other than the property owner. This disclosure requirement prohibition shall apply to an application for assistance, funded and administered by the State, for lead remediation purposes.
