- Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. Upon the collection of such tax, and penalties thereon, if any, the comptroller of the treasury may, on satisfactory proof of the agreement and the amount of tax and penalties, if any, paid into the state treasury, duly certified to him by the state tax commissioner, draw his warrant on the state treasurer in favor of the person giving the information for the amount called for by the terms of the agreement.
All amounts becoming due under the provisions of this section shall be paid from the same fund provided in the annual appropriation bill for the payment of refunds to estates pursuant to section 54:35-10 of this title and refunds to counties pursuant to section 54:33-10 of this title.
