Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 54A:7-2
- Annuity: A periodic (usually annual) payment of a fixed sum of money for either the life of the recipient or for a fixed number of years. A series of payments under a contract from an insurance company, a trust company, or an individual. Annuity payments are made at regular intervals over a period of more than one full year.
- State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
b. In addition to the statement furnished pursuant to subsection a. of this section, each employer shall notify an employee in writing of the availability of the earned income tax credit under the provisions of section 32 of the federal Internal Revenue Code of 1986, 26 U.S.C. § 32, and the New Jersey earned income tax credit provided in section 2 of P.L.2000, c.80 (C. 54A:4-7). The written notification shall use the statement developed by the State Treasurer pursuant to section 4 of P.L.2005, c.210 (C. 52:18-11.3) for this purpose. The employer shall notify only those employees whom the employer knows, or reasonably believes, may be eligible for the federal credit based on the wages reported on the statement distributed pursuant to subsection a. of this section.
