16. This 1995 amendatory and supplementary act is intended to provide a system of State trademark registration and protection substantially consistent with the federal system of trademark registration and protection under the federal Trademark Act of 1946, 15 U.S.C. § 1051 et seq. The interpretation and construction of the federal Trademark Act of 1946 shall be examined as persuasive authority for the interpretation and construction of this 1995 amendatory and supplementary act.
