Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 5:3-5

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
Any person who shall willfully violate any of the provisions of this article or any regulation, order or special direction duly made thereunder, shall, for each offense, forfeit to the municipality in which the offense was committed, a penalty of not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) nor more than two hundred dollars ($200.00) in the discretion of the court having cognizance thereof. The penalty shall be recovered in the same courts and shall be collected in the same manner as other penalties for the violation of municipal ordinances.
