The purpose of the Historic Preservation Loan Act N.M. Stat. Ann. § 18-6-18 to 18-6-23 is to provide owners of registered cultural properties in New Mexico with low-cost financial assistance in the restoration, rehabilitation and repair of properties listed in the state register of cultural properties or national register of historic places, which are a part of the state’s heritage and which contribute substantially to the state’s economic well being and to a sound and proper balance between preservation and development, through the creation of a self-sustaining revolving loan program to rehabilitate, repair and restore historic properties.
