The term “minerals” as used in this act [19-8-14 to 19-8-18, 19-8-21 to 19-8-33 N.M. Stat. Ann.] shall be construed to include all mineral deposits, whether the same be lode, placer or otherwise, and unless otherwise specifically indicated the term “lessee” as used in this act shall be construed to include an assignee under an assignment approved pursuant to Section 13 [19-8-28 N.M. Stat. Ann.] of this act. The term “legal subdivision” as used in this act shall be construed in its ordinary sense, as used and recognized by the general land office of the United States and the state land office of the state of New Mexico.
