A. The “juvenile public safety advisory board” is created, consisting of no fewer than three and no more than seven members appointed by the governor. The board is administratively attached to the department. The terms of members of the board shall be six years.
B. A director shall be appointed by the governor as the administrative officer of the juvenile public safety advisory board. The director shall employ other staff as necessary to carry out the duties of the board. Employees shall be employed in classified positions and shall be subject to the provisions of the Personnel Act [N.M. Stat. Ann. Chapter 10, Article 9].
