A. Parts 1, 3 and 4 of the Uniform Adult Guardianship and Protective Proceedings Jurisdiction Act and Section 45-5A-501 N.M. Stat. Ann. apply to proceedings begun before January 1, 2012, regardless of whether a guardianship or protective order has been issued.

- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
B. The Uniform Adult Guardianship and Protective Proceedings Jurisdiction Act applies to guardianship and protective proceedings begun on or after January 1, 2012.
