A land grant-merced managed, controlled and governed as a political subdivision pursuant to N.M. Stat. Ann. Chapter 49 shall not be subject to adverse possession claims to or defenses against the common lands administered by the political subdivision, provided that those claims or defenses have not vested prior to the effective date of this section.
