Except as provided in Subsection E of Section 62-6-6 N.M. Stat. Ann. and notwithstanding any other provision of Sections 62-6-1 through 62-6-11 N.M. Stat. Ann., the commission shall have jurisdiction over and may regulate, by general order or regulation, securities of a public utility incorporated under the laws of this state that would otherwise be exempt from regulation by the commission pursuant to Section 62- 6-6 NMSA 1978 or Subsection A of Section 62-6-8 N.M. Stat. Ann. and that is subject to regulation pursuant to 16 USC 824.

- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
