It is unlawful for any person to violate any provision of the Forest Conservation Act N.M. Stat. Ann. § 68-2-1 to 68-2-27 or any provision of a rule or regulation adopted pursuant thereto. Such violation is a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof such person shall be punished for each violation by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) or by imprisonment in the county jail not to exceed one year or both.
