Terms Used In New Mexico Statutes 70-13-3
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
A. the oil conservation division of the energy, minerals and natural resources department to regulate produced water as provided in the Oil and Gas Act [N.M. Stat. Ann. Chapter 70, Article 2]; and
B. the water quality control commission to regulate produced water as provided in the Water Quality Act [N.M. Stat. Ann. Chapter 74, Article 6].
