Terms Used In New Mexico Statutes 76-21-22
- Tort: A civil wrong or breach of a duty to another person, as outlined by law. A very common tort is negligent operation of a motor vehicle that results in property damage and personal injury in an automobile accident.
The commission is exempt from the operation of the Public Purchases Act [repealed] and the Personnel Act [N.M. Stat. Ann. Chapter 10, Article 9]. The commission members and their employees are public employees for the purposes of the Tort Claims Act [41- 4-1 to 41-4-27 N.M. Stat. Ann.].
