Terms Used In New Mexico Statutes 77-2A-9
- Tort: A civil wrong or breach of a duty to another person, as outlined by law. A very common tort is negligent operation of a motor vehicle that results in property damage and personal injury in an automobile accident.
The council is exempt from the operation of the Procurement Code [13-1-28 to 13-1- 199 NMSA 1978] and the Personnel Act [N.M. Stat. Ann. Chapter 10, Article 9]. The council members and employees shall be subject to the Tort Claims Act [41-4-1 to 41-4- 27 NMSA 1978] and shall be provided all insurance and self-insurance coverage provided by the risk management division, general services department, state of New Mexico.
