§ 2582. Trustees of corporate schools entitled to participate in funds of the board of education of the city of New York may convey to city of New York and be merged. The trustees, managers and directors of any of the corporate schools of the city of New York entitled to participate in the apportionment of the funds of the board of education of such city may, at any time, convey their school houses and sites to the city of New York and transfer any of their schools to the board of education of such city on terms and in a manner to be agreed upon and prescribed by such board of education, so as either to merge such corporate schools in the public schools or adopt them as public schools and the same shall then be public schools.
