§ 62. Loss of life by misconduct of officers. Every master or other person employed on any public vessel, by whose misconduct, negligence or inattention to his or her duties on such vessel, the life of any person is lost, and every owner or charterer through whose fraud, neglect, misconduct or violation of law, the life of any person is lost, shall be guilty of a class E felony.
