* § 2904-a. Contracts between the commissioner of health and health systems agencies. 1. The commissioner of health is authorized to contract with a health systems agency to the extent of any appropriation therefor for such health systems agency to provide assistance to the state in implementing state health planning and development functions and priorities.

  • Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.

2. Any such contracts shall be for a period of no more than one year and shall include a provision providing for termination of the contract on notice by either party.

3. No health systems agency shall receive more than the sum of fifty thousand dollars annually, or so much thereof as is necessary, to effectuate the purposes of this section.

4. The commissioner of health shall submit a written report to the legislature no later than the first day of March, nineteen hundred eighty-two as to the number of such contracts entered into, the support to the state provided by the health systems agencies under such contracts and an assessment of the program.
