§ 104. Advisory council for technology. 1. There shall be within the office, an advisory council for technology. The director of the office shall serve as chair of the council. The council shall be composed of a minimum of nine information resource management directors or their equivalent appointed by the governor. The governor's appointments shall be selected from state agencies. In addition, one shall be appointed upon recommendation of the temporary president of the senate and one shall be appointed upon the recommendation of the speaker of the assembly.

- Director: means the director of the office. See N.Y. State Technology Law 101
- Office: means the office of information technology services. See N.Y. State Technology Law 101
- Technology: means either a good or a service or a combination thereof, used in the application of any computer or electronic information or interconnected system that is used in the acquisition, storage, manipulation, management, movement, control, display, switching, interchange, transmission, or reception of data or voice including, but not limited to, hardware, software, information appliances, firmware, programs, systems, networks, infrastructure, media, and related material used to automatically and electronically collect, receive, access, transmit, display, store, record, retrieve, analyze, evaluate, process, classify, manipulate, manage, assimilate, control, communicate, exchange, convert, coverage, interface, switch, or disseminate data of any kind or form, and shall include all associated consulting, management, facilities, maintenance, support and training. 2. The members of the council shall receive no compensation for their services, but shall be allowed their actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.
