- Bail: Security given for the release of a criminal defendant or witness from legal custody (usually in the form of money) to secure his/her appearance on the day and time appointed.
In case of failure to comply with the undertaking the bail may be proceeded against by motion in the cause on 10 days’ notice to them. (C.C.P., s. 160; Code, s. 302; Rev., s. 754; C.S., s. 794.)
