- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. The Department of Public Instruction shall annually allocate all funds available from the Fund to each county in this State in equal amounts. Counties shall utilize funds received under this section for enlargement, improvement, expansion, repair, or renovation of classroom facilities at public school buildings within local school administrative units located in the county. Funds received under this section shall not be used for the retirement of indebtedness. As used in this section, “public school buildings” has the same meaning as in N.C. Gen. Stat. § 115C-546.2(b).
