For purposes of this Chapter, the term “legislator” as defined in N.C. Gen. Stat. § 120C-100(7) and the term “public servant” as defined in N.C. Gen. Stat. § 138A-3(30)a. shall include an individual having filed a notice of candidacy for such office under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 163-106 or Article 11 of Chapter 163 of the N.C. Gen. Stat. or nominated under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 163-114 or N.C. Gen. Stat. § 163-98 (2006-201, s. 18; 2008-213, s. 12; 2017-6, s. 3; 2018-146, s. 3.1(a), (b).)
