- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
No person shall allow permanent electrical service to a residence, place of business or place of public assembly upon construction, location or relocation until the official electrical inspector with jurisdiction as provided in N.C. Gen. Stat. § 143-143.2 certifies to the electrical supplier that the required improvement permit, construction authorization, and an operation permit or authorization under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 130A-337(c) or the letter of confirmation authorizing wastewater system operation under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 130A-336.1(m) has been obtained. Temporary electrical service necessary for constructing a residence, place of business or place of public assembly can be provided upon compliance with N.C. Gen.
