Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 130A-412.14

  • Donor: The person who makes a gift.
  • Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.

A search of an individual who is reasonably believed to be dead or near death for a document of gift or other information identifying the individual as a donor or as an individual who made a refusal, and, if applicable, notification of the hospital to which the individual is taken, shall be governed by N.C. Gen. Stat. § 90-602 (2007-538, s. 1; 2008-153, s. 2.)
