Under the N.C. Gen. Statutes, punishments for crimes depend on the classification. In the case of this section:Class | Prison | Fine |

A filing person who knowingly conceals or knowingly fails to disclose information that is required to be disclosed on a statement of economic interest under this Article shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor and shall be subject to disciplinary action under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 138A-45 (2006-201, s. 1; 2017-6, s. 3; 2018-146, s. 3.1(a), (b).)
